Do You Need A Life Coach? Here are a couple of exercises that will help you decide if you need a life coach. The first is a short quiz, and below that is a personal development tool known as a Life Wheel.
QUIZ This five minute quiz is just for fun but, like all good quizzes, it has a positive outcome. Most people find it works best if you print out this page and write your marks next to each statement. Give yourself 'marks out of 10' - just like in school - for each of the statements below. Don't ponder over it too much - just go with your gut instinct. If you agree totally with the statement give yourself 10 marks. If you disagree totally, give yourself 0 marks. If you partly agree or disagree, give yourself a mark between 1 and 9. Then add up your total before you look at the score-sheet.
If you scored 200. C'mon - were you really telling the truth? If not, call a life coach as soon as possible. But if you know, in your heart of hearts that your score is genuine - then you don't need a coach, but you could make an excellent life coach yourself. Perhaps I'll hire you to be my coach. Even my life's not a 200 yet. If you scored between 150 and 199. You are approaching sainthood and you should be thankful for your wonderful life. You might find that a coach could help you from time to time in specific areas of your life. You would also make a great life coach yourself. If you scored between 100 and 149. Congratulations! You are average and normal. You don't have an urgent need for coaching but you will certainly find it very useful to give me a call and discuss how you can get help to improve some of the areas that aren't working so well. If you scored between 50 and 99. You should telephone a coach right now. Call Joanne now on 0870 741 4278. If you scored 49 or less You may need professional medical help so make an appointment with your doctor now. But do feel free to call me any time if you think that coaching could help.
LIFE WHEEL This is a useful exercise to help you focus on which parts of your life need the most attention. The eight sections of the wheel represent balance. Regarding the centre of the wheel as 0 and the outer edge as 10, print out this page and rank your level of satisfaction with each life area by drawing a straight or curved line (see example). It can be useful to repeat this exercise every few months, and compare the results with previous wheels. With professional coaching you will start to see your wheel become more rounded and balanced.
